We want to be able to install the MSDE 2000 with our
application. Is there a place you recommend to get clear
instuctions on how to accomplish this task.
Thank you,
Randy
Hi Randy,
I personally am not happy with any of the automated methods I've seen. Wish
it was different and know it will be with SQL Express. But today, we
recommend preconfiguring the setup.ini file with the settings you want and
then shipping that and getting the customer to use the standard install file
along with it.

We've plumped for the standard MSDE install, called from a menu frontend
with appropriate commandline parameters or SETUP.INI settings. MS no
longer recommend merge modules.
