msde for web site

hi all!
i cannot figure out the difference between msde and sql server. both do the
same thing...
does msde have sprocs?
does msde have DTS?
re sql server licensing.
what is the difference between enterprise 1 proc lic and starndard 1 proc
lic?
whay should not i always use msde?
i'm sorry if these questions are naive but i have NO idea...

actually they are the same things... well, they are based on the same core
engine and bits, but are different version of the same DBMS...
please have a look at

differences among the editions
MSDE is only provided with the DTS-runtime, os ti can execute DTS packages
but not design new ones...

it really depends on your needs, and you probably better have a look at all
the versions comparisons for a better idea of your requirements...
