MSDE Installation Parameters

When installing MSDE What is the cmd parameters for enable a TCPIP
connection on a port that is not default. Is this possible.

... MSDE 1.0 installer did, but MSDE 2000 setup does not provide this
functionality..
you can only enable/disable network protocols, but you can not specify which
protocol and/or which port..

MSDE install problem

I am trying to install on a fresh copy of XP Home SP1. When I type the cmd line command to start the installation, the progress bar moves to almost completion and then it rolls back to the left and dies. What's going on here??

Mike Kiewiczhard to say. does it leave behind an install.log? what about the system's event viewer? anything in there?|||I am having the same behavior.

Event viewer has 5 entries

1. Warning
No object list was found in the installation file. Adding an object list to the installation file will improve performance of the system when measuring performance counters.

2. Error
The performance counter name string value in the registry is incorrectly formatted. The last valid index value is DWORD 0 in the Record Data.

3. Error

Product: Microsoft SQL Server Desktop Engine -- Installation operation failed.|||I had this same problem. You have to have File and Print Sharing installed and running on the machine.

Kory|||File and print services are installed, however I can not view the properties
